Daisy Tucker and Mr. NYC
Country girl, city billionaire, one apartment neither can afford to leave.
A 78-episode city romance that runs on geography. A woman from somewhere considerably quieter moves into a New York life she cannot afford, and a man who owns most of the building she lives in cannot work out why she will not take the easy version of the deal he keeps offering.
The engine is not a contract or a debt; it is a mismatch of scale. He is used to solving things with money and she is used to solving them by leaving, and most episodes are one of those two strategies failing. That is why the series can hold 78 episodes without a villain: the conflict is a difference in how two people were taught to survive.
Episodes run 60 to 90 seconds, which suits the format: small scenes, one city detail, one stubborn refusal.
